"bara" (pronounced baw-raw) is Hebrew for create or creator. Thus, bara Creative Resources specializes in creativity in graphic design, fine arts, music, poetry, and various other kinds of creative activity.

Sarah Oyerinde, the founder and (thus far, only) artist of bara, has had a natural talent with the visual and linguistic arts since childhood. In an effort to hone her skills, she received her bachelor’s degree in English from Indiana University, with a minor in Studio Art, in 2007. Presently, along with being a wife and taking care of her and her husband’s two children (and one on the way), Sarah is aspiring to receive her teaching license for secondary English language arts.

Today I am encouraged by these verses. It may be that in the coming weeks/months that I will share some of my dreams/visions/desires here on this blog. It may be. But for now, I am just encouraged and I know that I will certainly begin to write them down somewhere.

Cora Cooks Pancit is a sweet story with beautiful illustrations!

Cora is too young to help with the adult tasks in cooking, especially when her older siblings are around. But one day when her siblings leave the house during dinner preparation, Cora is afforded the opportunity to help her Mama all by herself.

Not only does this book do a great job at telling a story of a little girl eager to do practical adult tasks, but it is also a wonderful peek into Filipino culture. The reader will get a taste of Filipino cuisine, and a small glimpse into Filipino life.
